Reflections on 2007

One year ago today, I received confirmation from the Lord that I would be going to Spain to work with International Media Ministries! 2007 was a year that I needed change (a physical location change) in my life. Although I'm still living at home in SR, my location change is just around the corner (sort of). Last year I started raising support and fundraising. I still need 30% more of my funding to be a missionary associate for two years. I know God will provide it, some way or another, through people who desire to help this young lady work with a media ministry that reaches millions around the world!
~Three other great events that happened in 2007, and one that didn't happen. 1. On July 26th, I conquered Mt. Massive in Colorado! Yes, the 11 hour hike/trek through the beautiful mountain trails of 14, 421 foot Mt. Massive was the hardest physical thing I have ever put my body through. Leaving the trail head at 5:30 am (yep, I'm NOT a morning person, but I still got up at 3:45 am to climb a mountain?!) and returning to the trail head to die over in the truck at about 4:30 pm. I must admit...it does feel good to say I climbed the 2nd tallest mountain in the 48 states. But once I got to the summit (which I only made it to the top through the grace of God and pure determination to not fail), I pretty much wanted a helicopter to come and get me or for God to just miraculously transport me to the end. Going down was physically the hardest on my body. But, I couldn't give up. I had to get to the end! Why did I climb? A fundraiser for Katie's Club Fund www.katiesclubfund.org.
2. I finally got a niece! On Oct. 17, Lauren Elizabeth March was born to my sister April. She is a great joy to the family! It's so fun to see her big brother Samuel love her and talk to her and kiss her. I love being Auntie Crystal! I am sure going to miss those kiddos when I'm in Spain. 3. PFO in Springfield, MO. I attended my pre-field orientation for my missionary journey in Oct. (of course Lauren was born when I was gone, she couldn't come out earlier or wait til I got back). I greatly enjoyed my 10 days of learning and hanging out with fellow friends with a passion for missions! 4. One thing that didn't happen, I wasn't a bridesmaid!! This was the first year since 2001 that I wasn't in a wedding (I think)! It was good to not have to spend all sorts of money on dresses and gifts and everything else that comes with being in a wedding. 2007 was a great year! 2008 is going to be full of good times, but I also know an emotional roller coaster as I near the end of support raising and start packing for Espana!

My favorite part of this post is that you mentioned NOT being in a wedding! That is so funny. How many bridesmaid's dresses do you have? Don't forget that in 2008 you are going to see ME and baby Fedell!!!!!! That is super exciting! I was thinking... come in Sept. It is perfect here and i can travel with Jack and he wont slow me down and i wont be super fat!!! what do you think?
